TURBO COMPONENTS FOR THE 70 SERIES LAND CRUISER
RESTORE BOOST AND PULLING POWER
Turbo components keep a 70 Series Land Cruiser breathing properly, and a healthy turbo system is central to the strong, tractable diesel performance owners rely on for towing and touring. This collection covers the turbo components that restore lost boost and protect the engine, from the turbocharger itself through to the hoses, gaskets and hardware that keep the system sealed. As kilometres climb, oil leaks, cracked hoses and worn seals slowly rob the engine of power and economy. Refreshing these turbo components brings back the response and pulling power that make the 70 Series such a capable workhorse on and off the bitumen.
OEM-SPEC HOSES, SEALS AND HARDWARE
Turbo components here are selected to OEM-spec standards so they match the factory boost and oil-feed arrangement on the 70 Series, which is critical for reliability under sustained load. Hoses, clamps, gaskets and feed lines are chosen to handle the heat and pressure that come with turbo-diesel operation, particularly on the 1VD-FTV V8, where the turbo works hard during towing and hill climbs. Using correctly specified components keeps boost where it should be and avoids the oil and air leaks that lead to lag and excess smoke. Each part is intended to fit the original mounting and routing so the system goes back together cleanly.
ENGINE-SPECIFIC FITMENT NOTES
Turbo component fitment depends heavily on engine, which varies across the 70 Series body styles, including the 75 Series, 76 Wagon, 78 Troopy, 79 Single Cab and 79 Dual Cab. The naturally aspirated 1HZ of the HZJ 1999 to 2007 era was not factory turbocharged, so turbo components apply chiefly to the 1VD-FTV V8 of 2007 to 2023, with a split between the Pre-DPF era of 2007 to 2016 and the DPF era of 2016 to 2023. The 1GD-FTV 2.8L facelift from 2024 uses a different turbo arrangement again. Always confirm your engine code and build year before ordering, as turbo components are engine-specific and rarely cross between models.
