Every LandCruiser roof rack we sell is cut to one roof. Toyota never built a single 70 Series roof, so there is no rack that suits the whole range. The ute cab, the Troop Carrier and the wagon are three different lengths with three different mounting runs, and a rack drawn for one of them will not sit down properly on either of the others. Work from your body style first and the length options, gutter spacing and fitment notes narrow down to the handful that actually apply to your roof.

WHY THE ROOF IS THE UPGRADE PEOPLE REGRET SKIPPING

A LandCruiser roof rack is rarely first on the list and almost always the thing owners wish they had fitted sooner. Everything else in a build competes for space that already exists. A rack creates space that did not. It is also the anchor point for most of what comes afterwards, because awnings, roof top tents, solar panels, light bars, shovels and traction boards are nearly all designed to mount to a platform rather than to the vehicle itself. Fit the rack early and the rest of the build gets easier.

PLATFORMS OR BARS

Two shapes of LandCruiser roof rack cover almost every build. A full platform gives you a flat, continuous deck with a mounting slot anywhere along it, which is what you want if the roof is going to carry an awning, a tent and gear all at once. Bars are lighter, quieter at highway speed and cheaper, and they suit a roof that only ever carries long loads or the occasional ladder. Full-length and three-quarter-length platforms are both stocked, and the three-quarter option leaves the rear of the roof clear where a Troopy or wagon needs the tailgate or rear door to swing without fouling.
