SAFE ROOF ACCESS FOR THE TROOPY THAT CARRIES EVERYTHING
GET ON THE ROOF WITHOUT WRECKING IT
Roof-top tents, awnings, jerry cans, recovery tracks, solar panels. The Troopy roof carries an enormous amount of gear and you climb up and down constantly to access it. Without a rear ladder, most owners end up standing on tyres, gripping the gutter rail, and pulling themselves up. Slipping muddy boots all the way and putting dents in the side panels. A purpose-built rear ladder gives you proper foot placement from the ground to the roof with secure rungs spaced for work boots. Safer, faster, no more bodywork damage.
STEEL OR ALLOY, BOLTED TO THE BARN DOOR
Each ladder in this collection is constructed from powder-coated steel or aluminium tubing with wide rungs that handle work boots, hiking boots, or bare feet. The mount attaches to the rear barn door using existing hinge points or supplied brackets. No drilling into the body panels. The ladder folds close to the door when not in use so it adds minimal length to the vehicle for parking, reversing, or tight tracks. Rated to support a fully-grown adult plus a roof load like a swag or solar panel.
HZJ78, VDJ78, AND GDJ78 SPECIFIC
The Troopy barn-door dimensions and hinge points changed slightly between generations. Ladders are matched to the specific door configuration. HZJ78 (1999 to 2007), VDJ78 V8 (2007 to 2023), and GDJ78 2.8L facelift (2024 onward). Each listing confirms exact year fitment. A rear ladder is almost always paired with a roof rack and an awning as part of the same touring build, so consider how the ladder works with the rest of the rear-end gear before you order.
