76 Series Land Cruiser Rear Ladders

Easy Access to the Roof of Your 76 Wagon

Once you fit a roof rack to a 76 Wagon, you need a way to get up there. Climbing up the side of the vehicle or standing on the rear tyre to reach the roof is awkward, unsafe, and puts dents in the bodywork. A rear ladder bolts to the back of the wagon and gives you a proper set of steps to climb up and down safely, making it easy to load and unload roof top tents, awnings, solar panels, maxtrax, and anything else you carry on the roof rack. It is one of those accessories that seems optional until you have one fitted, and then you cannot imagine going without it.

Strong, Lightweight, and Designed for the 76 Wagon

Our 76 Series rear ladders are built from steel or aluminium with a durable powder coated finish that matches the roof rack and other exterior accessories. Each ladder is designed specifically for the 76 Wagon rear body, mounting to the tailgate hinges or body panel with supplied hardware and no drilling into the vehicle. The step width and spacing are designed for climbing with boots on, including muddy or wet boots where grip matters. Most ladders sit close to the body to minimise how far they stick out from the rear of the vehicle, keeping the overall length as short as possible for parking and reversing without catching on obstacles.

Rear Ladders for VDJ76 and GDJ76

Ladders are available for both the VDJ76 V8 (2007 to 2023) and the GDJ76 facelift (2024 onward). The rear body of the 76 Wagon is largely unchanged between both variants so most ladders fit across both model years. A rear ladder is almost always purchased alongside a roof rack as a pair, and many owners add one at the same time they fit a roof top tent since you will be climbing up and down multiple times a day when camping. If you are building a touring setup on your 76 Wagon, the ladder is one of those accessories that makes everything else on the roof practical to actually use.
